Why I Founded Beauty Out Of Mire

Beauty Out Of Mire Trust was born out of a deeply personal and painful experience—one marked by grief, loss, and a relentless journey of caregiving. In 2010, I faced an unimaginable tragedy. My twin daughters, born prematurely at 30 weeks, were both fragile and in desperate need of specialized medical care.

In a series of devastating events, I lost my firstborn twin, Liya Blessing, just 18 days after her birth. Simultaneously, my surviving twin, Raziela Miracle, faced a relentless uphill battle. A blood transfusion infected with Cytomegalovirus (CMV) and misdiagnosed seizures inflicted lifelong impairments—cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, sensory disorder, and focal epilepsy. Raziela’s suffering led to profound emotional, physical, and financial hardship.

As a mother, I realized that my journey, though filled with heartache, could spark change. I saw the critical need for support systems, awareness, and advocacy for children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDDs) and their families, who are often left feeling isolated and misunderstood.

I founded Beauty Out Of Mire Trust to turn my pain into purpose and to uplift families like mine. The Trust’s mission is to:

  1. Support families raising children with NDDs through holistic care and resources.
  2. Advocate for inclusion and accessibility in healthcare, education, and society.
  3. Raise awareness about the struggles and unique abilities of children with neurodevelopmental challenges.
  4. Provide safe spaces that promote dignity, growth, and acceptance for every child, no matter their limitations.

What began as a deeply personal experience has grown into a commitment to empower families navigating the heavy burdens of raising children with special needs.

Through Beauty Out Of Mire Trust, we embrace the belief that even in the depths of despair, beauty and hope can emerge, transforming challenges into opportunities to nurture and elevate the futures of children who deserve nothing less.
